BARK BAY BEACH
Small but perfectly formed, Bark Bay is like a little Awaroa and very beautiful with it.
Captain F G Moore wrote in 1840: "...several snug little bays with sandy beaches. A few Maori families were settled here and there, growing potatoes and catching fish, pigeons and other wild fowl. Everywhere plenty of food and comfortable shelter for these happy people".
